Tactical Information
- The primary advantage of the Liberator Concussive is that its concussive rounds inflict heavy stagger and knockback on enemies that it damages, allowing it to stop foes like Berserkers, Alpha Commanders, Stalkers and Overseers cold in their tracks.
- Because enemies will remain staggered for as long as they are being hit by this weapon, they can be rendered completely helpless for teammates to dispatch.
- The stagger does not stack with itself, it only resets with each new round that hits the target. Thus, it is best to pace your shots and try to hit the target at a deliberate interval rather than to unload on it.
- Repeated impacts can push targets backward a considerable distance. This can be very useful not only for crowd control, but also for pushing enemies towards hazards such as burning ground, gas clouds and Exploding Barrels.
- Another advantage of the Liberator Concussive is that it is equipped with a drum magazine, which has an increased capacity compared to the flat magazines used by the standard Liberator. This allows it to maintain stagger-lock on foes for an extended period of time.
- The large ammo drum allows the Liberator Concussive to remain in action for longer periods of time. This can mean locking down an enemy for as long as the drum lasts, and remaining on station to support teammates without having to worry about reloading.
- Be mindful of the weapon's limited number of drums, and try to avoid tactical reloads when possible. Expend as much of the drum as possible before reloading.
- Unlike the standard Liberator, the Liberator Concussive does not have a burst fire mode, nor does it have any scope options besides the built-in red dot sight. This means that it quickly loses accuracy at longer ranges, making the weapon more of a medium- to close-range fighter.
- The primary drawback of the Liberator Concussive compared to the standard Liberator is its low damage output due to its greatly reduced firing rate.
- While each individual round does only slightly less damage than those of the standard Liberator, this is further combined with its low firing rate, meaning that it has trouble killing even individual enemies. As such, the Liberator Concussive has trouble dealing with crowds, and serves more as an individual lockdown weapon that disables any enemies that it is firing at and preventing them from retaliating.
- Its inability to quickly kill targets makes the Liberator Concussive function more like a "support primary," locking targets down in place so that teammates with real firepower can kill them while they are helpless.
- One quirk of the Liberator Concussive's rounds is that they inflict almost twice as much durable damage as those fired by the standard Liberator. This can give it an edge when fighting low-armor but durable enemies like Brood Commanders, Bile Spewers and Stalkers.
