The AR/GL-21 One-Two's underbarrel grenade launcher allows for loadout versatility, alleviating the need to bring a dedicated explosive weapon to deal with Bug Holes and similar spawners.
- The underbarrel grenade launcher has the same stats as the GP-31 Grenade Pistol so it can be used for the same purpose, albeit with lower ammo economy.
Having a base ergonomics value of 30 (compared to the AR-23 Liberator's 65), the One-Two has a lower than average ergonomics value, meaning that it can be slower to move around while aiming.
- This can be alleviated by wearing armor with the Peak Physique passive.
With a 40 round magazine and only 6 spare mags, the One-Two has a below average combat load (280 rounds compared to the AR-23 Liberator's 405), so Helldivers are advised to practice proper accuracy and trigger discipline in order to maximize each round. In addition, the One-Two only has 3 reserve grenades when compared to the GP-31 Grenade Pistol which carries 6 reserves.
- The amount of spare grenades is not affected by the Siege-Ready armor passive.
The One-Two benefits strongly from being able to swiftly switch between its rifle and grenade launcher. It is advisable to set an accessible keybind to "Quick Weapon Wheel: Down" to easily swap between the weapon's two modes without needing to engage the weapon wheel every time a different mode is needed.

The AR/GL-21 One-Two's appearance is loosely based on the FN SCAR family of rifles, including the FN40GL grenade launcher.
The One-Two is currently the only primary in the game with a permanent under-barrel attachment. This prevents the weapon from equipping any weapon customization related to under-barrel attachments. (i.e. foregrips, laser or flashlight attachments)
