Tactical Information
- Attacking with the One True Flag drains stamina.
- Holding the attack button will allow you to continuously thrust the One True Flag, even when stamina is empty.
- Helldivers can swing the CQC-1 25 times before fully draining their stamina. This number is not affected by Stamina Regen value or the Stamina Enhancement Booster.
- Much like the CQC-19 Stun Lance, the One True Flag thrusts forwards at a decent range which allows you to target specific enemy parts, such as the head, to deal critical damage.
- The thrust also can only hit targets right in front the Helldiver, requiring more care taken if being surrounded by multiple targets.
- Despite having more length than the lance it has the exact same striking range
- Like the Lance, the One True Flag has a stun on hit effect, contrary to a lack of any reference in description or visual appearance.
- This weapon pairs well with the SH-20 Ballistic Shield as its narrow area of attack is remediated by the protection the shield offers.
- Wearing any Peak Physique armor will double the CQC-1's damage, greatly increasing its lethality.
- Due to a bug, The CQC-1, along with all other melee weapons, can bypass breakable armor allowing the weapon to damage the softer parts normally protected, this is most notable versus Chargers.
- During acid storms, the Charger's
Heavy armor, reduced by the weather, must be broken open before the softer underlayer can be damaged with melee weapons.
- The flag when on a helldivers back can and often will obstruct the bearers view in third person view, making it harder to see the enemy one is shooting.
- One can plant the flag by dropping it, which will deal damage to nearby entities, and wave the flag by holding down the reload button.
- Bug: Picking up samples, backpacks, stimming, or using any emote that would holster your weapon while bearing any melee weapon will alter how your helldiver holds them, this alteration negatively affects your ability to melee but can be reset by hot swapping back to your weapon.
Performance
The One True Flag is considered a 'meme' stratagem by most due to essentially being identical to a CQC-19 Stun Lance in combat despite taking up the Support Weapon slot. As such Helldivers cannot equip support weapons while using the flag, rendering their performance in combat significantly lower than their peers.
Furthermore, unlike the Stun Lance, the One True Flag is dropped on death and significantly obstructs the vision of Helldivers fighting in 3rd person when carried. It is strongly advised to either plant the flag or switch to first-person aiming before engaging in ranged combat.
When using the One True Flag as a weapon rather than a morale booster, use cover to approach enemies, try to funnel weaker enemies into a straight line so that you can deal with them without being flanked, and take note of the fact that the true range of your strike is less than the visual range of the Flag.
