The Anti-Tank Emplacement, shortened to AT Emplacement or ATE, is a Stratagem that deploys a heavy anti-tank cannon.

Tactical Information

  • The Anti-Tank Emplacement is a stationary fortification that grants accurate long-ranged rapid-fire anti-tank capability that can easily destroy even the largest of enemies.
    • Like its cousin the E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement, the Anti-Tank Emplacement is a mounted weapon that players can man to directly control their fire. It will persist for the entirety of the mission so long as its ammunition has not been depleted.
    • As an Emplacement, it cannot be relocated once it has been called in and requires a Helldiver to physically man the weapon.
      • This emplacement can only be interacted thus entered via in front of or atop the operator chair; lack of ground around the chair itself after initial assembly can render AT Emplacement impossible to enter.
      • A deploying / assembling AT Emplacement cannon launches anything on top of it, making it a falling hazard to any Helldivers standing atop.
    • The AT Emplacement rotates very sluggishly, roughly half the turning speed of the HMG Emplacement. This makes it extremely dangerous to engage enemies at close range or to get attacked from multiple directions.
  • The Anti-Tank Emplacement's shells inflict roughly 18% more damage per shot as the Commando (1,300 vs 1,100), and can destroy the same targets. However, it can do so much more quickly due to its huge shell reserves, fast projectile speed and fast autoloader capability.
    • As it meets the same breakpoints as the Commando, this means that it generally requires two or more shots to kill most heavy enemies, even when aiming at weak points. However, its rapid-fire capability means it can sustain this firepower over an extended period of time, giving it much more staying power than anti-tank support weapons.
    • Because it has a 30 shell reserve, the AT Emplacement is very effective at eliminating all heavy enemies during an engagement, whether it be while assaulting an enemy base or fighting a reinforcement wave.
    • Keep in mind that the AT Emplacement can shoot virtually anything it can see, only taking into account projectile drop due to gravity. As such, try to put the emplacement down on high ground.
    • As the AT Emplacement can engage targets from very far away, it does not have to be placed near teammates in order to support them. Putting it down farther behind the line can provide a measure of safety while still allowing it to safely engage any heavy targets.
  • The Anti-Tank Emplacement fares extremely well against Automatons, as it is capable of easily and quickly killing Hulks, Factory Striders and Tanks, as well as shooting down Dropships and Gunships with ease. Its ability to destroy Automaton Fabricators, Cannon Turrets and Command Bunkers also allows it to destroy bases from standoff range, and even inflict significant damage to Fortresses on Super Helldive Difficulty Icon.pngSuper Helldive difficulty.
  • While actively using the Anti-Tank Emplacement, Helldivers are quite vulnerable to flanking enemies, such as Berserkers and Hunters.
