Intense Heat is an environmental condition that is activated conditionally on a large number of planets, depending on the time of day and weather conditions. Planets with Fire Tornados will activate the Intense Heat modifier only for the duration of the Fire Tornado storm.
Effects:
- Maximum stamina is halved. This means it takes half as long for a Helldiver to become winded from constant sprinting, but it also means they regain their maximum stamina in the half the usual time (because the rate of stamina regen is unaffected).
- Heat-based weapons lose heat slower, contrary to the in-game description of increasing build-up. For instance, the LAS-98 Laser Cannon's heat sink normally takes 15 seconds to completely cool off. Intense Heat makes it take 33% longer (20 seconds). The same percentage change is applied to all heat-based weapons' cool-off duration.
- Strangely, the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon seems to be unaffected by this condition.

Changes
- The Intense Heat modifier is no longer static throughout the entire mission, and may now change based on time of day or different weather conditions.
- Some desert planets will now only have the Intense Heat modifier active during the day. This means that during night the planet will either have no modifier, or in some cases have the Extreme Cold modifier.
- Arid planets (similar to the Hellmire planet) will now only have the Intense Heat modifier active during fire tornado storms.
