Tactical Information
A true machine gun, the Stalwart saturates target areas with a hailstorm of bullets. Its staggering 250-round ammo belt permits reckless use of ammunition and grants tremendous staying power during extended engagements. Compared to the heavier MG-43 Machine Gun or MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun, its lighter build makes it easier to swing around and doesn't force the user to stop moving to reload it. However, its smaller caliber ammunition can prove less effective against armored targets.
- The Stalwart fires the exact same bullet type as that of the AR-23 Liberator, giving their projectiles identical performance.
- With its 3 reserve boxes, it has a total combat load of 1,000 rounds. As such, it is often always ready with sufficient ammo for combat, even when far from supplies.
- With the Siege-Ready passive, up to 4 reserve boxes can be carried, for a total of 1,250 rounds.
- Ammo Boxes restore 1 belt, and a Resupply without Superior Packing Methodology restores 2.
- It has a reload speed of 5.8 seconds when fully empty, and 4.4 seconds with a round left in the chamber (a 24% reduced reload time). While this is longer than that of both the Machine Gun and Heavy Machine Gun (which require 4.6 and 5.5 seconds respectively), the Stalwart's ability to reload without needing to stop in place gives it a tremendous mobility and survivability advantage.
With the capacity to erase crowds of weaker enemies within seconds, the Stalwart is perfect for mowing down Voteless hordes and swarms of lesser Terminids. As such, it pairs well with slow, powerful weapons that might otherwise struggle against large numbers, such as the JAR-5 Dominator, R-6 Deadeye, or R-36 Eruptor.
- The Stalwart shines against Illuminate forces, shredding energy shields and Voteless hordes with little resistance. Fleshmobs and Overseers can be quickly dispatched of with the weapon's higher RPM setting, but its lack of armor penetration leaves it with no real answer against Harvesters beyond their shield.
- On the Terminid front, the Stalwart eradicates packs of Hunters and other unarmored enemies, but is easily challenged by armored targets like the Hive Guard or Bile Spewer. Mission types that prioritize the spawn of weaker enemies, such as Enable E-710 Extraction, are perfect for the Stalwart.
- Against Automatons, Stalwart ammunition harmlessly bounces off the armored chestplates of Devastators and is completely incapable of penetrating the thick plating on larger units. As such, it may not be the preferred choice over its heavier, armor penetrating counterparts.
