Tactical Information

  • Mines will detonate after being stepped on by any enemy, Helldiver, vehicle, or citizen. In addition, mines will detonate if they land on an allied sentry during deployment.
  • Despite being lower in damage, the incendiary effect makes the MD-I4 more effective against chaff units than its counterparts. The fire left behind by mines remains for a while after each detonation, extending its staying power.

General Minefield Tips

  • When not obstructed, the mines are flung into the distance between 10-20-meters
  • The deploying mechanism is vulnerable to damage after emerging from the Hellpod. If it is destroyed prematurely, any mines in reserve will be destroyed with it and deal no damage.
  • Strategic placement is key to make the most out of each minefield. Place them wherever enemies are expected to travel through, such as in the path of an enemy reinforcement, or use it to cover your flank in a retreat.
  • They will explode immediately upon taking damage. Many Eagle and Orbital stratagems will destroy mines if deployed in their vicinity, which can be wasteful.
  • Depending on the terrain, it is possible for mines to plant in very close proximity to one another. If one mine explodes, it will detonate its neighbors, which can start a chain reaction destroying a large amount of mines.
