MG Raider

The MG Raider is a light Automaton icon.svgAutomaton equipped with a Light Fusion Repeater.

Spawning

MG Raiders can be first found on Easy Difficulty Icon.svg Easy. They can spawn from Bot Drops, within patrols, guarding Automaton Outposts and Objectives, or from Automaton Fabricators.

Starting on Challenging Difficulty Icon.svg Challenging, they can be found guarding Minor Places of Interest.

MG Raiders spawn more frequently on higher difficulties, mostly replacing Troopers.

If a planet is invaded by the Automaton icon.svg Jet Brigade Icon.svgJet Brigade, MG Raiders will begin being replaced by their Jet Brigade variant on Easy Difficulty Icon.svg Easy.

Behavior

MG Raiders will fire 12 shots from their Light Fusion Repeater if a Helldiver is in its line of sight before quickly reloading. MG Raiders will keep some distance from Helldivers, backing up if they approach, and punching them if they are too close. MG Raiders will toss a grenade if Helldivers are behind cover. Their powerpack can unintentionally explode if damaged, instantly killing the MG Raider but significantly damaging and burning nearby Automatons or Helldivers. If it is being suppressed by gunfire, it will erratically move its rifle, significantly reducing its accuracy.

When alerted to a Helldiver's presence, MG Raiders can fire a flare to call in a Bot Drop.

Its Automaton icon.svg Jet Brigade Icon.svgJet Brigade variant can utilize a jump pack, allowing it to constantly close the distance between it and a Helldiver.

Disclaimer: Each highlighted part with a count has its own health. Parts without a count share health pools.

1) Parts with their HP listed as "Main" do not have their own individual health. All damage dealt to these parts is transferred to the enemy's Main health pool.
2) Refer to armor values and enemy durability as defined in Damage.
3) Damage dealt to a part will also be transferred in part or in full to main health.
4) If set to "Yes", damage transferred to Main is limited by the max health of the part.
5) Constitution is a second health pool that, once main or limb health has been depleted, may decay. The first number is the total constitution and the second is the decay rate. If set to 0/s there is no decay and the constitution behaves as extra health.
6) ExDR means explosive damage resistance, and can range from 0 to 100%. If a part's value is 100%, the limb cannot take explosion damage; The explosive damage will instead target Main. Note: This can only occur once, regardless of parts hit and explosion armor penetration must match or exceed Main armor to deal damage.

Weapon Loadouts

Light Fusion Repeater

When paired with its continuous-feed power backpack, the Light Fusion Repeater is capable of laying down devastating amounts of suppressive fire and cutting down the retreating survivors. Commonly utilised by specialised Raider units.

While beneficial in allowing the Light Fusion Repeater to deliver higher firepower. The Backpack-mounted generator is often prone to leaks and even explosions when punctured by gunfire.

HE Grenade

A throwable explosive that bears eerie resemblance to the G-12 High Explosive Grenade. It is mainly used by Automaton Infantry to break apart fortified positions and even light vehicles. Has a notably long fuse time that allows it to be quickly thrown back.

Tactical Information

MG Raider

  • The Light Fusion Repeater used by MG Raiders can fire almost continuously, pausing only briefly after 12 shots, making them very dangerous at medium-close range.
    • MG Raiders can be potentially accurate enough to severely damage a Helldiver in one burst. Helldivers should consider firing, even inaccurately, near MG Raiders to suppress and lower their burst accuracy.
  • MG Raiders can be immediately recognized by the two heat sink fins rising from their back-mounted powerpack.
    • The powerpack can still potentially explode on their remains, but it can still be shot to blow it up prematurely.

Light Automatons

  • All light Automaton icon.svgAutomatons are equipped with a hidden flare launcher in their left arm, which can be used to call in Bot Drops.
    • Destroying them before it can finish launching the flare will prevent a Bot Drop from being called in.
  • Grenades and headshots will reliably one-shot all light Automatons.
