The Illuminate Overship is a large Illuminate capital ship seen in the background of planets they invaded.

Lore

Illuminate Overships were first encountered as part of The Great Host, a massive Illuminate invasion fleet that emerged from the Meridian Black Hole shortly after it was stopped by Super Earth. While their presence was not felt in the Great Host's advance towards Super Earth, they began descending upon Super Earth, forcing SEAF forces to respond accordingly.

Spawning

Illuminate Overships spawn in the Take Down Overship Mission.

* Parts with their HP listed as "Main" do not have their own individual health. All damage dealt to these parts is transferred to the enemy's Main health pool.
** Refer to armor values and enemy durability as defined in Damage.
*** The percentage of damage that is applied to the enemy's Main health pool. At 0 HP, the enemy dies. Unless the enemy has constitution, then it will bleedout and die.
**** ExDR means explosive damage resistance, this is a percentage between 0 and 100. If this value is 100%, the part is explosive immune, meaning explosives cannot damage it. Explosions will only directly damage Main health if it is internal.


Tactical Information

  • When the Illuminate Overship is shot, it summons Warp Ships on Helldivers. It currently has no other effect on ground assets.
  • Aiming the barrel of the Planetary Defense Cannon at the closest Port hole of the Overship enables Helldivers to 1-shot the target once the shields have been disabled with 2 shots.
  • The Overship's Shield can begin to regenerate if the Helldivers assigned to it's assault take too long rearming and firing the Planetary Defense Cannon between shots, which will require additional shells to be fired in order to deactivate the shield again.
    • While the shield is still intact, if 20 seconds pass without the shield taking damage, it will begin to regenerate at a rate of 500 health per second.
    • Once the shield has fallen, it will reappear after 60 seconds and start to regenerate, assuming the Overship hasn't been destroyed by then.
  • The Solo Silo and Bastion can be used to damage or destroy the Overship. However, acquiring the Access Codes is still needed for mission completion.

Trivia

  • Overships are the first enemy capital ship with an in-game model, with the first one shown being the unnamed Automaton spaceship.
  • Overships are the first enemy in the game to have an Armor Value higher than Armor AV6 Icon.png Tank II.
  • Overships vaguely resemble jellyfish in their anatomy and movement, similarly to the rest of the Illuminate's "sea creature" thematic.
  • You can use your support, primary, or secondary weapons to destroy the shield on the overship, provided the weapon has enough range.
    • By extension, shooting the overship with your lesser weapons will still make it call Warp Ships to your location.
  • The glowing ports under the cap of the ship are weakpoints, comparable to the glowing doors on landed warp ships. Shooting this glowing port with the orbital cannon can one-shot the ship.
