Tactical Information

  • The P-72 Crisper is essentially a FLAM-66 Torcher that occupies the Secondary Weapon slot.
    • It boasts the same DPS, firing range, and penetration power as the Torcher, with the fire damage-over-time effect dealing slightly less durable damage.
    • It has a much smaller magazine and an overall lower combat load.
    • It can be wielded with one hand, allowing Helldivers to use it while carrying objectives.
  • The Crisper is one of the only two Secondary weapons (the other being the P-4 Senator) with a Armor AP4 Icon.png Heavy penetration power, meaning it can directly damage Chargers through their front armor.
  • As with all flamethrower weapons, the pilot light must be ignited before firing by holding the fire button. It may be fired instantly at any time while the pilot light is active.
    • The pilot light will extinguish automatically after a roughly 12-second period of disuse.
      • The pilot light will appear to visually extinguish roughly 2 seconds before it mechanically extinguishes.
    • The pilot light ignition process does not consume any ammo.
  • Firing at the floor will create a pool of fire that continues to burn for several seconds. This can set the user on fire too, so advancing whilst firing is not advised.
  • Diving directly backwards while shooting the Crisper (or Torcher) will catch the Helldiver on fire, due to their legs passing in front of the jet.

Known Issues

  • [1.001.100] Re-introduced collision issues with fire particles that causes flamethrower weapons to deal less DPS than intended.

Change History

Patch
Description

1.003.000
2025-05-13

Change

  • Sway increased from 1 to 1.2

Damage

  • Burning damage now scales with enemy size and will do more damage over time to larger enemies
  • Fire direct damage also scales with enemy size. The base damage of direct fire hits has been lowered as compensation. This means that large enemies will take roughly the same amount of damage as before, while smaller enemies will take slightly less.

Time to Ignite

  • Larger enemies now take longer to ignite.
  • Robotic enemies are harder to set on fire than organic ones.
  • Incendiary Ammunition and Lasers are now less effective at igniting enemies, but once they do, the resulting burn damage is more impactful thanks to the new scaling system.
