Tactical Information

  • Functioning effectively as a sidearm equivalent of the PLAS-101 Purifier, the Loyalist is distinguished from it by its lower damage and much lower ammo capacity.
    • Like the Purifier, the Loyalist can either be charged up to fire highly damaging and moderately large plasma explosions, or tap-fired in a pinch to rapidly deliver lower-damage bolts.
    • Unlike the Purifier, the Loyalist's explosions (and therefore charged explosions) penetrate Medium level armor, whilst the direct plasma projectile only penetrates Light armor.
    • Due to its innate splash damage even on un-charged shots, the Loyalist proves to be a poor emergency self-defense weapon. However, it is a powerful tool for bombarding enemies at medium range.
    • It's especially risky to use the Loyalist's fully charged blasts against aggressive enemies that manage to catch a Helldiver off-guard, such as Hunters, Pouncers, and especially Stalkers, since the explosion can cause self damage when fired at close range combatants.
  • The explosion from a fully-charged shot will stagger and greatly push back enemies as large as Brood Commanders and Scout Striders. Use this to maintain distance and safely follow up with more blasts.
  • Both the charged bolt and accompanying explosion deal high amounts of damage to durable enemy parts, even relative to many primary weapons. This is especially useful against Charger butts and Tank vents.
  • Because the Loyalist is a one-handed weapon, shots can be charged from the hip while maintaining full walking speed.
  • One notable quirk with the Loyalist's Third Person aim mode is that the reticle isn't an accurate representation of where the pistol will shoot; the actual shot will stray slightly to the left in actuality. This can be nullified by using First Person aiming.
