Tactical Information
- The PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle is characterized by its incredible long-range power but low magazine and ammo capacity.
- Combined, the three shots of a burst deal immense damage. This is enough to put down any medium-sized target with one burst, provided the user can land their shots.
- Note that one burst to the torso is not quite enough to kill an undamaged Devastator if all three shots hit the armored chest. To kill in one burst, at least one round must strike the unarmored head or abdomen. As such, it is advised to aim for the gut against these targets.
- In addition to its power against medium-sized enemies, the PLAS-39 shines at rapidly defeating heavier ones such as Hulks or Chargers by targeting their weak points. This is also the case against emplaced enemies such as Bunker Turrets.
- The PLAS-39's muzzle velocity is extremely high, exceeding any ballistic-based weapon, and has a nearly non-existent drag factor.
- This means that the PLAS-39's projectile damage fall-off is minimal at long range.
- Combined, the three shots of a burst deal immense damage. This is enough to put down any medium-sized target with one burst, provided the user can land their shots.
- The PLAS-39's Achilles' heel is its combination of low magazine capacity and lack of semi-auto fire mode. Only three bolt bursts can be fired before the magazine is emptied. Reloading the PLAS-39 occurs frequently, which is a liability when facing close-range targets.
- The Siege-Ready armor passive is a match made in heaven for the PLAS-39. In addition to providing extra ammo, it greatly improves the reload time of the PLAS-39, which means more time can be spent shooting targets.
- Although most plasma weapons are effective against crowds, the PLAS-39 fares poorly due to its small area-of-effect and tiny magazine capacity.

Trivia
- The PLAS-39 is based off of the VC39 Accelerator Rifle from Killzone. Like the StA-X3 W.A.S.P. Launcher, it wasn't featured in Killzone 2, in this case instead being from the PS Vita spinoff Killzone: Mercenary.
- The PLAS-39 was previously categorized as a Sniper Rifle in the loadout menu, the first and only loadout weapon to hold such a distinction. The weapon was moved to the Energy category in patch 1.003.000, which withdrew the Sniper Rifle category from view.
