TheBadge.svg Pandora Base is a top-secret Super Earth development facility located on Afoyay Bay. It's purpose is to create upgrades to the Democracy Space Station, namely the upgrade named the Star of Peace as a part of Operation Free Space.

Lore

Following the construction of the Center for the Confinement of Dissidence (CECOD), a top-secret facility commissioned by the Ministry of Expansion would be built on the same planet. The first step in Operation Free Space is to upgrade the Democracy Space Station's weapon capabilities, the upgrades will be built here.

The workforce of Pandora Base's construction is fully supplied by dissidents contained at the CECOD.

Construction

  • December 11th, 2185 - Plans for Pandora Base were announced to the Helldivers. High Command ordered the Helldivers to hold Afoyay Bay to allow for the uninterrupted construction of the top-secret foundry.
  • December 18th, 2185 - Construction of Pandora base began as the first step in Operation Free Space. The first upgrade to the Democracy Space Station was declassified, named the Star of Peace.

Post-Construction

  • Sometime between January 14th and January 18th 2186, the Star of Peace would successfully be mounted onto the Democracy Space Station.
  • January 20th, 2186 - After the success of Operation Free Space and the successful collapse of Penta into a Conventional Black Hole, the Democracy Space Station would be damaged, so it was taken offline and warped to Pandora Base to be fully repaired.
    • A data breach would happen during the collapse of Penta, caused either by the Automaton icon.svg Automatons or the Illuminate icon.svg Illuminate. The leak included the Star of Peace's plans.
  • January 27th, 2185 - Less than a day after the unsuccessful Illuminate invasion of Afoyay Bay, most of the planet's dissident workforce and personnel would successfully be evacuated.

Trivia

  • The concept of prisoners working on a super weapon is potentially drawn from the TV Series Andor, in which the titular character is imprisoned and forced to build components to be used on the Death Star (which itself is what Star of Peace is referenced from).
