Tactical Information
- As a suppressed weapon, the Censor benefits from having a reduced detection presence compared to other weapons.
- Suppressed weapons have an audible range of 12 meters. Instead of immediately being aware of a Helldiver's position, enemies will instead become suspicious of the shots and start to investigate. Enemies still can be alerted after several rapid missed shots.
- Helldivers can use that advantage to eliminate their targets, such as Trooper's, on objectives without revealing their position. However, killing any unit in patrol will still alert the rest of the group and will be engaged.
- It is recommended to target light Automaton units such as Troopers, MG Raiders, and Commissars first, as they are capable of calling in reinforcements.
- When targeting these units, it is recommended to aim for the head or legs to kill them in a single shot without giving them a chance to call reinforcements.
- It is very similar to the R-63 Diligence, boasting the same damage values, armor penetration, and weapon class. However, it has some key differences that make it a sidegrade and not simply the Diligence but better.
- The Censor has a suppressor, which makes it ideal for stealthily dropping enemies in a single shot.
- The Censor has a slightly faster rate of fire than the Diligence, allowing for more effective close-ranged panic firing.
- The Censor can be fitted with a 10x sniper scope, while the Diligence cannot.
- The Censor has slightly higher stagger force than the Diligence, matching that of the R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper, allowing it to stagger larger chaff such as Warriors, Hive Guards, and Devastators.
- The Diligence has a higher base magazine capacity at 25 (versus the Censor's 20). However, the Censor can equip an optional extended magazine to beat the Diligence, which has a capacity of 30.
- The Diligence has slightly better ergonomics than the Censor at 65 (versus the Censor's 60). This ergonomics benefit only widens if Helldivers select the extended magazine attachment on the Censor. However, both weapons do have excellent ergonomics.
- The Diligence has significantly better bullet velocity. This can make long-range shots much easier to land.

Trivia
- When compared to other suppressed weapons such as the M7S SMG and M6C/SOCOM Pistol, the Censor has a much quieter firing sound. This is likely due to its use of Subsonic rounds, a feature not shared by the above-mentioned weapons.
- This does not have a tangible effect on gameplay; all suppressed weapons are audible within 12m.
- As of 2026/2/5 (update 6.0.1) on the Known Issues page, its unreduced magazine capacity of 8 when equipping an extended magazine modification is marked as a bug.
