When this armored beast senses the presence of Liberty, it buries itself underground to escape its light. Its Charger instincts compel it to tunnel through the ground at high speeds, emerging only to attack those who represent the liberty that blinds it so.

The Rupture Charger is a large Terminid that was added to the game with the "Helldivers 2 - Into the Unjust" title update.

Spawning

Rpture Chargers appear exclusively on planets with the Rupture Strain present.

Behavior

The Rupture Charger is capable of burrowing and charging Helldivers from underground.

* Parts with their HP listed as "Main" do not have their own individual health. All damage dealt to these parts is transferred to the enemy's Main health pool.
** Refer to armor values and enemy durability as defined in Damage.
*** The percentage of damage that is applied to the enemy's Main health pool. At 0 HP, the enemy dies. Unless the enemy has constitution, then it will bleedout and die.
**** ExDR means explosive damage resistance, this is a percentage between 0 and 100. If this value is 100%, the part is explosive immune, meaning explosives cannot damage it. Explosions will only directly damage Main health if it is internal.


Tactical Information

Rupture Chargers can be dispatched with the same tactics used against Chargers.

  • Rupture Chargers have stronger armor values on their head and front legs than any other Charger variant; Armor AV5 Icon.png Tank I instead of Armor AV4 Icon.png Heavy.
  • Rupture Chargers can burrow underground to approach a Helldiver, typically surfacing within 3m of their target before attacking.
  • Burrowing disturbances caused by Rupture Chargers are larger than other Rupture strain units, making them easy to identify while underground.
  • Helldivers can trick a Rupture Charger into surfacing at an inopportune angle of attack by quickly sprinting toward / past it's burrowed form when close enough.
  • Burrowing units can be forced to surface by any explosive effect. This includes primary weapons with the 'explosive' trait such as the Crossbow, Scorcher, or Purifier, secondary weapons such as the Grenade Pistol or Loyalist, and most (but not all) grenade types.
