SoS Beacon

The SoS Beacon is a standard-issue Stratagem which causes the mission to be displayed as a higher priority mission to other Helldivers on their Galactic War table. It can only be thrown by the host of the current lobby.

Tactical Information

• When called-in, it will display for other Helldivers as a higher priority mission, appearing to emit pulses on the map.
• The SoS Beacon may damage heavy enemies on impact, as well as destroy Automaton Fabricators.
• After the SoS Beacon is called, the lobby becomes public to all Helldivers, even if it was originally a private lobby.
  • If the team wishes to keep the lobby private, the host should immediately close the game, then rejoin the lobby.
• If the host of the lobby leaves, the SoS Beacon will be instantly destroyed.
  • The new host may throw another SoS beacon in order to re-enable the effects of the strategem.

Changes

• SOS beacons will now look for additional players for the remainder of each mission. They are no longer destroyed when the squad is full. Instead they will deactivate - until someone leaves and the SOS beacon starts looking for additional players again. The SOS beacons will still be destroyed on host migration - this is to allow the new host to decide if they want a new SOS beacon or not

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the SOS beacons could not be deployed in the same or subsequent missions under certain circumstances
• Fixed an issue where deploying an SOS beacon could result in your lobby not being made public and couldn't be joined by other players. The intended design is that deploying an SOS beacon makes your lobby public for the duration of the mission
