Identical enemies are considered variants?

Incendiary Rocket Devastators functions exactly the same as an ordinary Rocket Devastator, except a new paint job. Even pinging one will have it read "Rocket Devastator," so where's this "Incendiary" coming from? They shouldn't be considered a separate variant with its own separate page, I suggest putting this paint job in the gallery of the regular enemy. PapaPink (talk) 18:53, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

Hey PapaPink!

This scenario is a bit nuanced as the other incendiary variants (such as the Incendiary_MG_Devastator) have different weaponry that warrant their own page according to our current page creation criteria. It didn't make sense to have all of the other incendiary enemies as separate pages while having this specific one combined with its non-variant version. I would like to talk to the other administrators a bit more about our potential options, as you do bring up a good point. Betta7776 (talk) 19:05, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

this is definitely it's own enemy, it shoots a different projectile and it sets you on fire, I think that's different enough Yubbo (talk) 05:30, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

Unless there's a critical lapse in my encounters, the rocket devastators with the Incineration Corps do not fire any different projectiles nor set you on fire. Even pinging them only says "Rocket Devastator," so this "Incendiary Rocket Devastator" seems to be a wiki-made name, and potentially misleading to users. PapaPink (talk) 06:41, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

Honestly, I made the page in a panic after seeing an additional render image for the incineration corp enemies, thinking that we missed a variant while the incineration corps were active.

At the very least, making this page helped me to discover that our enemy cargo tables had a now corrected oversight.

Regarding the name though, perhaps we could change it to better reflect that it’s simply a separate model that spawns with the incineration corps. TauCetiV (talk) 13:33, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

Seeing how no change has been made yet, I would like to propose that the render seen on this page is simply added to the Gallery of the Rocket Devastator page, with a note reading this is their appearance when fighting the IC. The existence of this page soft implies there must be something different besides their appearance, which can create false expectations (or imagined alternate behaviors) in casual wiki browsers.
