Warp Links

Warp Links[1], or Supply Lines as they tend to be called by the community, are a dynamic network of pathways between each conflict-threatened planet in the Second Galactic War. Supply Lines dictate which planets are open for liberation and which planets are at risk of an attack by the Terminids and Automatons.

Mechanics

Warp Links critically allow for liberation and defense campaigns to occur via the mounting of Planet Attacks.

An enemy planet cannot be liberated unless it is connected to a Super Earth controlled planet via warp link, and enemy factions cannot launch a defense campaign on a Super Earth controlled planet without a warp link.

If a Super Earth controlled planet is connected to an enemy controlled planet via Warp Link, the Super Earth planet will mount a Planet Attack on said enemy planet, triggering a liberation campaign.

When Super Earth fully liberates an enemy controlled planet, new Planet Attacks are immediately mounted from the newly liberated world to any connected enemy controlled planets.

Moreover, if Super Earth happens to lose control of a planet, all Planet Attacks mounted from said planet will cease. Unless another Super Earth owned world is attacking an enemy planet being liberated, the liberation campaign for said enemy planet will stop.

Defense campaigns are triggered when an enemy faction mounts a Planet Attack from one of their controlled planets to a Super Earth controlled planet via Warp Link.

Should Super Earth fail to defend the attacked planet before the defense campaign's deadline, said planet will be lost to the attacking faction. Any Planet Attacks mounted from the lost world will cease.

However, a defense campaign can end early if the planet mounting the attack towards the Super Earth planet is liberated before the defense campaign's deadline. This is typically referred to as a Gambit by the community.

History

  • Prior to PATCH 01.000.400, Supply Lines could only be viewed through third party applications.
    • This changed following the patch, where the Supply Lines would be displayed on the in-game Galactic Map.

Details

  • Warp Links are dynamic, they can change at any time, usually depending on the active Major Order or manually.
  • Enemy Factions will generally follow the Supply Line rules when launching attacks on Super Earth worlds, however there are exceptions.
  • On occasion, new Warp Links have been added before the Terminids and Automatons launch attacks on Super Earth worlds. However, Super Earth cannot launch a liberation campaign via these new Warp Links until a defense campaign is won, or if the planet in question is lost and re-liberated.
  • The method of how Meridia Outbreaks occurred while the Supercolony was active is unknown, as it was observed that the attacks did not properly follow the supply line rules.
  • If a planet bordering a dense Gloom cloud is liberated, then liberation campaigns will still start for any planets within the dense Gloom cloud if they are connected via a supply line. This is despite said planets being unselectable from the map screen.
    • This has been observed twice on Hellmire while the planet was enveloped by the dense Gloom cloud. Both times, the active liberation campaigns had to be manually cancelled.
