Calypso
Calypso is a Rocky Canyons Planet in Helldivers 2, located within the Saleria Sector. It is currently under 
Super Earth Federation control.
Lore
It should be noted that prior to the attack, there were reports of missing colonists that contributed to a delay in the production of new Chemical Weapons for the Helldivers. At the time, this was written off as an epidemic of 'navigational errors' which was rectified.
Calypso remained undisturbed by both the Automatons and the Terminids during most of the Second Galactic War. However, in a shocking development, Calypso became the site of the first Illuminate attack on a Super Earth colony since the First Galactic War. The Illuminate were believed to be '100% completely destroyed' following the First Galactic War, and where returning in full force. Horrifyingly, the Illuminate had deployed the abducted Super Earth citizens as shock troops in the attack, having twisted and altered their physiology into the mindless, shambling Voteless.
During the battle, which lasted about 3 days, nearly 38 million Helldivers gave their lives to save the planet. This battle was also the first time in the Second Galactic War where the Helldivers had to fight within an urbanized enviornments, requiring a slight change in tactics.
The Helldivers made use of FRVs (Fast Reconnaissance Vehicles) which allowed them to traverse vast distances in such a short amount of time. This allowed for “attack and go” maneuvers which the Illuminate weren’t expecting.
The battle was just barely won by the Helldivers minutes before the Illuminate could completely overwhelm the planet. It’s estimated more than 3 billions Illuminate are confirmed dead in the fighting, however most of this number does count the horde of Voteless that swarmed the Helldivers.

Trivia
Calypso is believed to be named after a goddess from Greek myth. Calypso lived on the island of Ogygia as punishment for siding with the Titans during the war between the Olympians and the Titans. She is most well known for being part of the famous greek epic, Odyssey.
