When selecting a Mission in Helldivers 2 using the Galactic War console, a difficulty can be selected between level 1 Trivial Difficulty Icon.pngTrivial and level 10 Super Helldive Difficulty Icon.pngSuper Helldive.

Each difficulty level offers a different set of missions. For example, some missions offered to the player on Trivial Difficulty Icon.pngTrivial are not offered on Extreme Difficulty Icon.pngExtreme.

Effects

  • The number of Medal.svg Medals, Requisition Slip.svg Requisition Slips, and Experience you earn from a mission all depends on the difficulty you select.
    • Higher difficulty missions have increasing percentage multipliers for Requisition Slips and Experience, from +25% on Medium Difficulty Icon.pngMedium to +300% on Super Helldive Difficulty Icon.pngSuper Helldive
  • Enemy forces are enhanced to increasingly lethal degrees.
    • The number of enemies and the type of enemy both depend on the difficulty level set.
  • The number of Operation Modifiers present during the mission.
    • One modifier is added on Hard Difficulty Icon.pngHard.
    • A second modifier is added on Impossible Difficulty Icon.pngImpossible.
  • The number of Sub-Objectives required to complete a Main Objective increases at higher difficulties.
  • The number of Optional Objectives increases at higher difficulties.
  • The number and type of Samples able to be found depends on the set difficulty.
    • The type of samples available during an operation is able to be seen on the Galactic War console when selecting an operation and difficulty.
