Armor
In Helldivers 2, players can equip different Armor sets before deploying on missions. Armor sets offer unique Armor Passives and stats that can affect game play, allowing players to customize their loadout to suit their playstyle.
Armor Piece Categories
Armor pieces in Helldivers 2 are classified into three categories:
- LIGHT: These armor sets offer minimal protection but allow for greater speed and mobility.
- MEDIUM: These armor sets provide a balance between protection and mobility.
- HEAVY: These armor sets offer maximum protection but limit the player's mobility.
Helmets
Each armor piece has an associated helmet. All helmets have a default value of 100 for armor, speed, and stamina. If an armor's defense rating exceeds 100, it will reduce the damage taken from head shots.
Armor Stats
Armor Sets in Helldivers 2 have three primary stats:
- Armor Rating: Represents the armor's ability to absorb damage.
- Speed: Determines how quickly the player can move across the battlefield.
- Stamina Regen: Affects the regeneration of stamina, which is used when sprinting and when performing other strenuous actions.
Speed and Stamina Regen are calculated based on the raw Armor stat, before factoring in Extra Padding, using the following formulas:
- Speed = 500 - (Armor - 100)
- Stamina Regen = 100 - (Armor - 100) if Armor > 100
- Stamina Regen = 100 - (Armor - 100) / 2 if Armor < 100
Acquiring Armor Sets
Players can acquire Armor Sets in two ways: 1. Purchasing from the Superstore using Super Credits. 2. Unlocking through Warbonds by spending Medals.

Change History
- Armors with armor rating above 100 now also reduce damage on headshots.
- Heavy and medium armor protects better and you now take about 10% less damage than before while wearing heavy and about 5% less when wearing medium armor. Fortified commando and light armor is unchanged.
- Fix: Fixed armor rating values not reducing damage as intended.
