A high explosive grenade which detonates on first impact.

G-16 Impact is a Special Grenade in Helldivers 2.

Unlike other grenades, the G-16 has no fuse time, meaning it blows up as soon as it lands or hits a target. The instant explosion means the grenade isn't given an opportunity to fall into bug holes, or the air vent atop a Fabricator, and thus must detonate at precisely the right spot, or else it is wasted.

Procurement

To acquire the G-16 Impact grenade, a Helldiver must unlock page 5 of the Helldivers Mobilize Warbond, then spend Medal.svg 20 Medals to purchase the grenade.

Tactical Information

  • While the instant damage makes utilizing grenades for killing enemies a lot easier, it does have its drawbacks:
    • Bug Holes and Automaton Fabricators are a lot harder to destroy with the Impact grenade because you have to aim them extremely carefully.
    • If an enemy happens to jump in front of you right as your Impact grenade leaves your hand, you're just dead. You won't have time to dive away before the grenade goes off in your face. Likewise, being knocked prone right as you're winding up to throw one (or if you switched to holding them rather than just using quick-throw) will likely have equally lethal results for you.
