This template is used to mark a page for splitting to other pages. It is preferable to start a discussion on the talk page of the page when using this template, to prevent potential conflicts. If the page already has begun the process, use {{splitting}} instead.

Pages with this template on are added to Category:Pending split.

Usage

• The |1=, |2=, |3=, |4=, |5=, |6=, |7=, |8=, |9= and |10= parameters set the suggested new pages. They should be used in order.
• The |reason= parameter adds an additional reason note.
• The |part= parameter changes the message for splitting only a portion of the page.
• The |discussAnchor= parameter changes the section name where the "discuss" button will lead on the talk page. It is added to the default talk page or the one set by the parameter below.
• The |discussPage= parameter changes the talk page where the "discuss" button will lead.
• The |section= parameter changes the template to a section style, changing the message to say that the section should be split into its own page or pages.
• The |timestamp= parameter adds a note of when the template was added.
• The |bot= parameter adds a note that a bot may be needed for a split. It should only be used for large categories containing large numbers of files.

  • {{merging}} for indicate that the merging process has begun. It is recommended to use it on large merging processes.
