Kelvinor is believed to be named after William Thomson, better known as Lord Kelvin, a scientist and mathematician that defined the first two laws of thermodynamics. He also corrected the value of absolute zero. The temperature unit, Kelvin, was named after him. The Kelvin Sector was also named after Lord Kelvin.
