Background
Operation Swift Disassembly was coming to an end. Phase III of the operation was successful.
Helldivers liberated Maia a couple of days ago, Tibit was liberated soon after Maia. Now it was time for Durgen.
Strategy and importance
Durgen was the last Automaton planet. Liberating it would mean the eradication of automatons.
Battle
The siege started on Apr. 7th.
The planet is holding a record of over 350k helldivers on it at the same time. Battle didn't last too long, it ended a couple of hours later.
Over 37.5 Million Helldivers were killed by Automatons on Durgen during the last hours of war against them.
Unfortunately, just 2 days after the siege succeeded, Automatons returned with a fleet 10 times larger than the Automatons that were eradicated after the siege.
