Background

Automatons launched an invasion on planets of Lacaille, Valdis, Hydra and Andromeda Sectors. Matar Bay is a gateway to the Andromeda and Ymir sector, Automatons decided to use the fact, that Matar Bay is the fastest way to get to Andromeda Sector from Lacaille Sector to their advantage.

Strategy and importance

Matar Bay always was and still is a very important planet. Its a gateway to Ymir Sector and the shortest way to Andromeda Sector. The defense of this planet was really important, as failure in defense of it, would mean almost certain fall of the whole Andromeda Sector and Ymir Sector.

Battle

The first battle of Matar Bay was a defense campaign. Unfortunetly, not enough Helldivers defended Matar Bay, as most of them focused on defense in the Hydra Sector. This caused the defense to fail on 11th of April. Soon after the failure, Automatons launched an invasion into Ymir sector, and later, captured the whole Andromeda Sector.
