Tactical Information
- The key feature of the Tenderizer is that it is chambered for a high caliber round that inflicts the most damage per shot of any Assault Rifle in the game. Because of its high damage output, the Tenderizer is able to kill most small targets in only two or three shots, and makes quick work of most larger unarmored targets with rapid fire.
- If in a dire situation the weapon can be switched to a higher rpm setting of 850 rpm via Weapon Wheel for faster damage output.
- In exchange for its greater damage output, the Tenderizer has a smaller magazine than the Liberator class of rifles, sporting a 35-round magazine.
- In order to avoid depleting the magazine too quickly, fire in short bursts or even set it to semi-automatic. Take advantage of the high damage rounds to dispatch foes in as few shots as possible, aiming for their weak points if they are unarmored. Make every round count.
- Be careful about positioning when using this weapon, as its smaller magazine means that you may have to reload more frequently than the standard Liberator. Always be in a position to be able to retreat to reload in safety, and always prioritize nearby enemies to free up personal space when the time comes to reload.
- The Tenderizer's most direct analogue is the Adjudicator, which similarly inflicts more damage per round and
Medium-armor penetrating rounds in exchange for higher vertical recoil and a smaller magazine.
- The Tenderizer has higher damage per round, a slightly larger magazine and a higher rate of fire, as well as not suffering from significant recoil. This makes it more ideal as a weapon that can fight in the thick of the enemy's midst as needed, rather than keeping foes as far away as possible.
- The Adjudicator's advantage lies in its rounds being able to penetrate medium armor. This means that a player using the Tenderizer may find themselves having to re-position to target an enemy's unarmored body parts, such as circumventing a Hive Guard's plated head or circling around a Scout Strider to attack its driver rather than targeting its legs.
Trivia
- The Tenderizer released with an unusual green-and-tan colour scheme despite being portrayed with a black body in the reveal trailer, though this was later fixed in Patch 01.000.304. The same patch notes also noted that the Tenderizer will be receiving a damage buff in the near future.
- The plain grey finish, distinct FAMAS-style top rail carry handle, and standard bullpup format, along with the weapon's (hidden) 'Rico' ammo type suggest it might be a reference to the Morita Assault Rifle from Starship Troopers, one of the primary inspirations for the Helldivers franchise.
