Tactical Information

The SG-8 Punisher is a close-range shotgun, specializing in destroying enemy infantry. Its high damage and stagger per shot is offset by its relatively low fire rate and weak armor penetration.

  • Unlike shots from the SG-225 Breaker, SG-8 Punisher shots greatly stagger most small to medium sized enemies. This leaves targeted enemies unable to fight back for as long as the wielder keeps firing.
  • Its stagger potential and high damage make the SG-8 Punisher a particularly effective choice against the Predator Strain.
    • Predator Stalkers can be repeatedly staggered to allow the user to line up more effective shots. Suggested targets include the front legs to cripple them, or the face for a potential instant kill.
    • The spray of buckshot also allows for forgiving aim against Predator Hunters.
  • As a Rounds Reload weapon, the Punisher is reloaded one shell at a time. This makes impossible to waste ammo while reloading, though a complete reload from zero will be slower than that of a traditional magazine.
  • The Punisher's reload speed closely matches its fire rate, making it easier to fire continuously by pressing Reload after each shot.
  • With the addition of custom attachments, the Half Choke and Full Choke can be used to lower spread. This makes each pellet more likely to hit a targeted weakpoint at the cost of demanding better accuracy.
  • When reloading with exactly 8 rounds in the magazine, the final round count will increase by one round, making it 17 rounds. Moreover, every subsequent reload performed with 8 or more rounds remaining will result in a final count of 17 rounds, until the number of rounds in the magazine drops below 8.
