Tactical Information

  • A key feature of the Tenderizer are its high caliber rounds that inflict the most damage per shot of any Assault Rifle in the game. The Tenderizer is able to kill most small targets in only two or three shots, and makes quick work of larger unarmored targets with rapid fire.
    • The weapon can be switched to 850 rpm via Weapon Wheel for faster damage output.
  • In exchange for its greater damage output, the Tenderizer has a smaller magazine than the Liberator class of rifles, sporting a 35-round magazine.
    • To avoid depleting the magazine too quickly the rifle can be set to burst or semi-automatic firing mode. Take advantage of the high damage rounds to dispatch foes in as few shots as possible, aiming for unarmored weak points.
    • More frequent reloads require anticipatory positioning to avoid being caught with an empty magazine amidst a group of enemies.
  • The Tenderizer's most direct competitor is the Adjudicator, which sports Armor AP3 Icon.png Medium-armor penetrating rounds in exchange for less damage per round, higher vertical recoil, a lesser fire rate, and a smaller magazine.
    • A player using the Tenderizer may find themselves having to re-position to target an enemy's unarmored body parts, such as circumventing a Hive Guard's plated head or circling around a Scout Strider to attack its driver rather than targeting its legs.

Trivia

  • The Tenderizer released with an unusual green-and-tan colour scheme despite being portrayed with a black body in the reveal trailer, though this was later fixed in Patch 01.000.304. The same patch notes also noted that the Tenderizer will be receiving a damage buff in the near future.
  • The plain grey finish, distinct FAMAS-style top rail carry handle, and standard bullpup format, along with the weapon's (hidden) 'Rico' ammo type suggest it might be a reference to the Morita Assault Rifle from Starship Troopers, one of the primary inspirations for the Helldivers franchise.
