The Liberator is the first Primary Weapon that every Helldiver receives. A well-balanced Assault Rifle, it is a solid and reliable choice for rookies and veterans alike for just about any Mission.

Tactical Information

  • As the standard issue Assault Rifle, the Liberator is capable of engaging Democracy's enemies on any field of battle.
  • The weapon's scope can be adjusted to fight at close to medium range, with options at 25m, 50m and 100m. This allows the player to precisely place rounds where needed.
  • Fire rate can be adjusted between Single Shot, Three-Round Burst or Full Auto. At close ranges, Full Auto can quickly and easily overwhelm enemies with a storm of bullets, while at longer ranges Burst Fire or Single Shot can be used to precisely plant rounds on distant enemies or in their weak spots.
  • An underbarrel flashlight can be adjusted based on visibility conditions. In Automatic mode, the flashlight will turn on whenever the weapon is aimed, and off otherwise. It can be adjusted to always be on or off.
  • The Liberator is also equipped with a laser pointer that automatically activates when aiming. This will show exactly where rounds will land when the weapon is fired, and is also visible to teammates. It is an invaluable feature that aids in putting rounds on target and alerts teammates if they might be in the path of friendly fire.
  • Beware that the weapon can only penetrate light armor, which means that it will have difficulty engaging armored enemies such as Hive Guards and Devastators. These enemies can be dispatched by targeting their unarmored body parts (the legs and thorax on Hive Guards, or the abdomen, limbs and head on Devastators). Be sure to pick a proper Secondary Weapon or Support Weapon to account for the Liberator's weak armor penetration.
