A laser rifle firing a continuous beam. Does not need reloading, but if it overheats a new heat sink must be fitted.

The LAS-5 Scythe is an energy-based laser rifle with infinite ammo. The weapons ammunition capacity is only limited by heat accumulation within the weapon. The firearm is equipped with three spare heat sinks to mitigate this issue. Due to its reliance on a heat sink to rapidly dissipate the immense heat buildup caused by firing the weapon, it takes longer to cool down on hot planets and cools down faster on cold planets.

Procurement

The Scythe is unlocked on the 5th page of the Helldivers Mobilize Warbond for Medal.svg 30 Medals.

Media

Tactical Information

  • It has to be used in tandem with other weapons, so that Helldivers may defend themselves even while this weapon's heatsink is hot. As long as Helldivers manage the heat well, they will never run out of ammo.
  • It is excellent at dealing with Shriekers due to its constant damage beam, making flying units easier to hit than with conventional ballistics.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to bypass heat build-up for both the Scythe and Sickle when switching weapons during their reload animations.
