The G-4 Gas is a special grenade that releases a cloud of gas instead of a traditional explosion.
Tactical Information
The Gas Grenade is similar to the G-23 Stun since the gas applies a crowd controlling effect to enemies, causing them to take damage over time while losing track of the player and moving aimlessly. The tradeoff with the Stun is that the Gas actually does damage in exchange for not stopping enemies in place.
The Gas is the same as the Orbital Gas Strike and TX-41 Sterilizer. You cannot stack multiple gas clouds to do more damage, but you can set an enemy on fire and gas it at the same time.
It can't be used to destroy Bug Holes or Automaton Fabricators, so consider bringing other equipment to deal with them.
