Tactical Information
- In exchange for a reduced magazine size and less damage per round, the Liberator Penetrator possesses increased armor penetration. Its scope is also more powerful, able to zoom at farther ranges than the standard Liberator.
- Because of its increased armor penetration, it excels at defeating armored enemies such as Bile Spewers, Hive Guards and Devastators. In situations where the standard Liberator would deal reduced damage (or no damage at all), the Liberator Penetrator can successfully penetrate the target's armor and dispatch it quickly.
- Beware that against unarmored enemies, the Liberator Penetrator is less effective than the standard Liberator, as its armor-piercing rounds inflict less damage and it has a smaller magazine. For this reason, the Liberator Penetrator's performance is reduced when fighting multiple unarmored foes such as Scavenger swarms and Trooper patrols.
- Although it carries more spare magazines than the standard Liberator, the reduced magazine size means that with a combat load of 330 rounds, the Liberator Penetrator has less staying power than the standard Liberator's 360 round combat load.
- As it is less effective against hordes of small enemies, try to conserve ammunition by only firing in short bursts, and to aim at enemy weak spots in order to make each round count. Its enhanced scope can aid in placing rounds in the desired locations.
- Additionally, it can be more effective to utilize a Support Weapon that excels at defeating crowds of enemies, such as the Stalwart. This allows the Liberator Penetrator to be kept in reserve until an armored enemy is encountered.
