Tactical Information
- It fills the same niche as the A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry, able to effectively destroy large crowds of small to medium sized enemies.
- The Gatling Sentry fires 136% faster than the MG-43 Sentry while having the same bullet. This effectively means that the Gatling sentry has more than double the DPS.
- This makes the Gatling sentry distinctly better at dealing with masses of Brood Commanders and Berserkers.
- The Gatling sentry has a range of 75m and requires a direct line of sight to valid targets. Note that enemy corpses can block line of sight.
- The Gatling Sentry has a spool up and spool down time which results in it continuously firing as it changes targets.
- While a massive friendly fire hazard, this does benefit the Gatling Sentry against masses of Terminids
- Like the MG-43 Sentry unlocked before it, the Gatling Sentry will prefer to target small and medium sized enemies, but will still target heavily armored enemies if they are no other valid targets and also continue firing at the same target until said target is destroyed, the sentry runs out of ammo or the sentry itself is destroyed.
- Due to Gatling Sentry longer cooldown, higher DPS and total ammunition pool, the Gatling Sentry is more specialized to holdouts compared to it's MG counterpart - being significantly less likely to be overrun.
- Note that a single Gatling Sentry also has more than double the ammunition supply compared to the MG-43 Sentry.
