Calling the in-game description "a bit inaccurate" would be charitable. Rather, the Orbital 120mm HE Barrage fives 5 salvos of 3 explosive shells each, .5 seconds apart, and with a 2 second pause between each salvo. Though each shell's explosive radius is large, and their damage is considerable, the shells can potentially land anywhere over a very large area, making this barrage extremely imprecise.

Tactical Information

  • The 120mm HE Barrage deals a lot of damage... if it hits anything. The shells can land anywhere within about 50 meters of the beacon, and you have absolutely no control over where they land within that massive area, so it's quite difficult to use effectively.
  • If you don't throw the beacon especially far away, with a very high arc, you'll actually be in the radius of potential attacks unless you sprint in the opposite direction right after throwing.
  • The 120mm HE Barrage can destroy all types of structures, but good luck getting any of of the shells to actually hit Bug Holes. It's much better suited for Automaton Outposts, since Fabricators are large buildings.
