The Orbital Laser also known as Laser is an offensive stratagem that fires a single, continuous laser beam attack that lasts for 25 seconds, scorching everything in its path and giving priority to the deadliest nearby targets. It must "sweep" around in somewhat lazy arcs to acquire new targets, but it is one of the very few stratagems capable of killing absolutely everything.

Tactical Information

  • The Orbital Laser is the only Orbital Cannons Stratagem limited to a fixed number of uses within a single mission (3).
    • The 5-minute cooldown is also the longest among offensive Stratagems, so be sure to use it judiciously.
  • The Laser is useful for incinerating large swarms of cannon fodder or for cooking a single heavy target (if you're lucky, it'll even roast two of them). Though do be aware that large targets will take several seconds of sustained fire to be killed.
  • The Laser is extremely useful against Heavy Automaton Outposts as it will prioritize Bot Fabricators, Cannon Turrets, Hulks, and Tanks. This is very useful for Blitz: Search and Destroy missions.
  • The risk is great if used in a danger-close situation, as the laser might detect an enemy on the other side of your team, and broil members of your squad as it sweeps around.
  • The laser leaves a swath of burning terrain in its wake, so be sure not to run through an area it just scorched.
