Tactical Information
- As the Orbital Railcannon fires an exceptionally precise projectile, it will very rarely hit more than one enemy, since it typically chooses targets that are larger than its minuscule area of effect.
- The projectile nearly always hits the center of mass of whichever enemy or structure it targets.
- Every enemy currently in the game will die reliably to a single shot from the Orbital Railcannon, except for Factory Striders.
- Factory Striders will take significant damage, but as their top isn't a weak spot, it will not be destroyed outright either. Only their Cannon Turret will be destroyed.
- Bile Titans, Impalers, Chargers, Hulks, Tanks and Cannon Turrets will reliably be destroyed from a single shot.
- The Orbital Railcannon, if timed properly, can also destroy Dropships.
- If no other viable target is in the area, the Orbital Railcannon will target nearby Terminid Bug Hole, Spore Spewer, Shrieker Nest, or Automaton Fabricator. If a valid target cannot be found, the Railcannon Strike will target the precise spot where its beacon landed.
- The Orbital Railcannon can be used to destroy Detector Towers, Stratagem Jammers, and Rogue Research Stations. However, the Railcannon cannot lock onto these structures, so it must be "dumbfired" by ensuring there are no other valid targets in a wide area around the structure.
