A compact, low caliber machine gun. Trades power for ease of use, with faster reloading than heavier machine guns.

— Ship Management Terminal

The M-105 Stalwart is a support weapon specializing in disposing of large quantities of lightly armored targets. Being an alternative to the MG-43 Machine Gun, it sacrifices individual bullet damage and medium armor penetration for a higher rate of fire, a larger ammo box size and ammo pool, and the ability to reload on the move.

Tactical Information

  • The Stalwart, true to its name, has tremendous staying power, being available to stay in the fight for long periods of time without reloading.
    • The weapon has a staggering 250 round ammo belt, and Helldivers can carry 3 reserve boxes, for a total combat load of 1,000 rounds. This means that even while far from supplies, it will almost always be ready to engage in combat.
    • The Stalwart requires 5.8 seconds to reload fully empty, and 4.4 seconds when a round remains in the chamber (a 24% reduced reload duration). While this is longer than that of both the MG-43 Machine Gun and MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun (which require 5.0 seconds and 5.5 seconds respectively), unlike its heavier cousins the Stalwart does not require its wielder to stop in place to replace its ammo belt. This ability to reload on the move gives it a tremendous mobility and vulnerability advantage.
    • An Ammo Box will restore 1 reserve ammo belt, and a Resupply box will restore 2. Because of its large ammo reserve, the Stalwart greatly benefits from picking up Ammo Boxes at a Minor Place of Interest after clearing it of enemies.
  • A true machine gun, the Stalwart is capable of showering a target area with a storm of bullets with minimal concern for ammo conservation. Its ability to suppress small enemies in an area can make it a strong asset for any team.
    • With its tremendous ammunition reserve and ability to reload while moving, the Stalwart shines best when fighting against Terminids, as it can mow down large numbers of armor-less bugs for long periods of time without reloading, and remain mobile while reloading to avoid being surrounded by swarms. It shines best when fighting Bug Breaches, as it can keep most enemies short of a Charger or Bile Titan from emerging to become a threat.
    • The Stalwart's greatest weakness is that it cannot penetrate medium armor, making it ineffective against larger armored enemies like the Hive Guard. This also makes it less than ideal to use against Automatons, as many bots including Devastators are protected by armor that the Stalwart cannot hope to penetrate.
  • As it is effectively a large AR-23 Liberator in terms of combat characteristics, the Stalwart is best employed as a replacement primary weapon for clearing swarms of smaller enemies. This frees up the primary slot for a weapon that is capable of penetrating medium armor, such as the JAR-5 Dominator, R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper or SG-8S Slugger.
  • Depending on the situation, switching the weapon's fire rate can help to conserve ammo and reduce recoil, making the weapon last for even longer. As well take advantage of crouching or going prone to maximize accuracy.
